WINE (A Windows compatibility layer for Linux and Macintosh)

Has anyone heard of it? I installed it on a ThinkPad with Ubuntu and it works with a few bugs.

I downloaded a Mac program and I found out it uses WINE.

Good thing you said "compatibility layer," because WINE Is Not an Emulator!

tongue

I don't use Linux much (not at all, really  tongue ), so I don't usually use it.

All we need is an OSX compat. layer for Windows and life will be good!

Yeah, that's because Paint.NET uses Microsoft's .NET framework, which isn't really as simple to make a compatibility layer for.  hmm

I don't use Wine for anything, mainly because the only computer I have that runs strictly Linux, my laptop, doesn't need to run any Windows-specific applications for my purposes.

Re: WINE (A Windows compatibility layer for Linux and Macintosh)

I installed Steam via WINE. I tested out a small indie game (VVVVVV), and it worked perfectly. Next I'll try Half-Life: Source.
