Gamecube Disk help?

So, i have a copy of Super Mario Sunshine (favorite game ever) and it dosen't work. It used to, and i need help. And i don't go with all those wierd Youtube tutorials with using toothpaste and peanut butter. I think it'll just ruin the game more. And, i don't feel like getting a new copy.

Could you help me?

Trade it in for Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Check the disc for scratches or smudges.

Oh wait...

It's probably a contaminated disk reader.

I actually used Tooth Past on my SSBM didn't work, Ask GameStop, they know what to do.

My dad put the game in GameStop and got it back now it works like a charm.

How the heck would smothering toothpaste on a disk help anything?

Re: Gamecube Disk help?

I would first just try cleaning it according to the instructions. It could just be a little dirty or something like that. Are there any visible scratches?

Re: Gamecube Disk help?

It's funny.
Almost all my GC games don't work
Working:
Luigi's Mansion
Animal Crossing
Sonic Mega Collection
Mario Kart double dash
It has about 6 scratches, and a bit of white stuff on it

Re: Gamecube Disk help?

Oh god I love that game

Washing it with just water and then wiping it off gently (make sure not to scratch it) works well for me

White stuff, eh?

That's a problem. Try cleaning it off.

You sure it's not your gamecube that's the problem?

Re: Gamecube Disk help?

Actually, the toothpaste DOES work. You just smear the entire back of the disk with toothpaste, wait a couple minutes for it to dry, then clean it off with hot water, and a rag.  big_smile
