So, i have a copy of Super Mario Sunshine (favorite game ever) and it dosen't work. It used to, and i need help. And i don't go with all those wierd Youtube tutorials with using toothpaste and peanut butter. I think it'll just ruin the game more. And, i don't feel like getting a new copy.
Could you help me?

Trade it in for Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Check the disc for scratches or smudges.

It's probably a contaminated disk reader.

How the heck would smothering toothpaste on a disk help anything?

It's funny.
Almost all my GC games don't work
Working:
Luigi's Mansion
Animal Crossing
Sonic Mega Collection
Mario Kart double dash
It has about 6 scratches, and a bit of white stuff on it

Oh god I love that game
Washing it with just water and then wiping it off gently (make sure not to scratch it) works well for me

White stuff, eh?
That's a problem. Try cleaning it off.

Actually, the toothpaste DOES work. You just smear the entire back of the disk with toothpaste, wait a couple minutes for it to dry, then clean it off with hot water, and a rag.
