also, debug and debug [] are pointless in blocks, and run, launch, and call are intended for use outside blocks.

You can use run in blocks too. its how you make the BYOB "for i = 1 to 4" block.

yeah maybe simple mode (without the BYOB stuff and maybe other confusing features) or advanced mode (BYOB, CYOB, object oriented programing, ect)

This has been addressed multiple times. This is a planned idea. The Scratch Team hasn't started working on it yet, but is going to be part of Scratch 2.0.

I think the best way to handle that would be options to turn off thing, like complex blocks or BYOB. Thanks for supporting!
