Auto-Save or recovery save

Seriously, I've had way too many projects freeze because of their size and I can't do anything to save my latest projects.  Can Scratch 2.0 have an auto-save or a recovery file?  Cuz I would be extremely grateful of that.

I agree, this would be really nice.

Re: Auto-Save or recovery save

I agree. Maybe not an auto save because sometimes, I like to open an old project and play around a little bit with it but not save but a recovery save sounds good.

Re: Auto-Save or recovery save

Agreed! A sort of back-up autosave feature would be great, as long as it doesn't overwrite your file automatically, like JJ said.

Re: Auto-Save or recovery save

I totally agree. I used to have a painfully slow computer which would crash every five minutes. When we finally bought a new computer, in the first Scratch project I made, we had a power outage, so I lost everything.  big_smile

I'm gonna bump this since it's been agreed upon by 5 people.

Auto-saving would probably slow Scratch down  hmm

With a straight flush.

Still, a recovery file would be nice.

Not really.  Scratch would only save every couple of minutes, and you should be able to turn it off.

Re: Auto-Save or recovery save

Bumping this again...I really think it needs to be confirmed by a moderator that the Scratch Team has seen this and taken it into consideration.

Actually, in Squeak even saving once an hour would freeze the program temporarily (even in the middle of dragging a script).

However, with Flash's multitasking, it shouldn't be a problem. And I support!  big_smile
