Multiplayer RPG

Dear Scratch Community I am building a game that can only be completed in Scratch 2.0 (or higher). What I am building is an on-line multi-player game (if you know what club penguin is then it is a little like that). What I need to have is a small database to store user-names with their passwords so when people download or view the scripts, They cant find user-names with their passwords but still view the scripts, this will exclude all hacking in my game. Does Anyone Know How I Can Do This???
Thanks  smile

Re: Multiplayer RPG

Download Claw and use its Scratch Live blocks/features to add multiplayer.

Re: Multiplayer RPG

Panther has a feature where you can get information from a webpage which can be used to trigger a PHP page that is connected to a MySQL database. I made a 'Mini-Forum' in Panther. Though running a complete game off of HTTP is not a good idea. What you can do though, is use an actual server ( Like a Mesh host ). It would run much faster than using HTTP. ( http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=50354 )

Though in general, Multiplayer on Scratch will be slow.  hmm

Equal opportunity for different MODs.  tongue  And I use Panther because it has more features to work with, which is why I suggested it as well.  smile

Maybe you can download it someplace where there is a fast connection, maybe at a library or school?  Put it on a thumb drive and carry it home.

Re: Multiplayer RPG

Hold on. Scratch must have taken 8 hrs. to download then, because claw is less than 1/2 of Scratch's size.

No, but you could try hiding them by making a big comment over it all.
