Open Office

Give some good reasons to install or uninstall Open Office... then maybe I will...

Do you like it...

Think about it...

You do don't you...

Don't you?

Or do you?

Now you're confused...

hmm

^This. I use OpenOffice because it's free and works on Linux, but Microsoft Office is really much better. If you already have Office or can get it for a good price, use that.

GIMP is pretty powerful, it just has a steep learning curve.  hmm  I haven't used Photoshop though, but I imagine it's much more powerful?

Its not worth buying unless you want 3D designing... I've tried it...

Yes unless it comes pre-installed on your computer which is very rare...

Yeah... most Microsoft products do. You didn't know that?  lol

As you can see, it's rather expensive, but if you get a student discount it's quite affordable.

Re: Open Office

Microsoft Office is better, but Openoffice is free, and good enough. Still, I would use Libreoffice. It's the same program but it has a stable future.

Wise idea. My dad uses Openoffice on his work laptop instead of Microsoft Office.

Re: Open Office

I always use OpenOffice, even if I can get MS Office free (don't ask why).

I am tempted but I must restrain myself...

I hate the drawing program in Open Office...

It's used for more serious stuff, but it may not be optimal and, well, casual enough to please the average user. I'm sticking with Photoshop, however, and I think that most people find GIMP better because they did not explore the whole of Photoshop's features - like someone on the Internet had said, "Photoshop costs a hundred, but most people are using 10$ of it".

I think OpenOffice is rather annoying. I just use the text processor on my Mac.

Meh. It's okay. I use Google Docs for the minimal amount of word processing that I do.

Re: Open Office

I'm getting a computer soon, and instead of MicroOffice, I'll use Openoffice. I've heard it's almost as good, and free. It'll export to Microsoft Office, too.

Re: Open Office

It works and it's pretty much the same as Microsoft Office 2003...

...at the expense of reliability. Seriously, it crashes every minute. But it does have a recover tool...

...and it is free.

Best to try it. I use it.

I might return for a little while.
