According to most of the articles I'm reading, the tornado hit Springfield, Massachusetts, so I don't think a tornado ripped through MIT.

For those who have been experiencing tornado weather: I hope you guys are okay. Stay safe.

Yeah. I watched BBC news and felt so bad - the weather's gorgeous here, yet a few thousand miles away people's lives are being destroyed by Mother Nature.  sad
Did Andres die? Hope everyone in the ST and Scratchers are okay :S

Erm, I don't think any of the ST members died in the incident; MIT is near Boston, not Springfield. I know the tornadoes are terrible, but let's no over-exaggerate the situation and make it sound preposterous.  hmm

It said that people died on the news. You never know, someone could have been driving to work through Springfield...

Yes, but considering that most members of the Scratch Team study and live at MIT, I highly doubt that a member of the Scratch Team was one of the four casualties.

Don't get me wrong, the ordeal does certainly sound terrible, but suddenly thinking that members of the Scratch Team are dead simply because the association with the state of Massachusetts just kind of reminds me of the time when people associate the full devastation of the 9/11 attacks with everyone living in New York state when the majority of the damage was in New York City. (My apologies if I sound kind of stringent; living in New York City and having gone through 9/11, I've found certain things to just make me tick. Over-exaggeration happens to be one of them).

Although Oklahoma is one of the states that are tornado-prone, I don't think Oklahoma was in the path of tornadoes in this latest incident (Oklahoma is far from Massachusetts, see for yourself):

I can't say for elsewhere in New York state, but, at least in New York City there hasn't been any inclement weather. It has been largely sunny here for the past few days.

The most recent tornadoes didn't hit my town, gladly. But we still got a bad storm. No power outages, though. I think I was lucky. Apparently my friend's mom's favorite restaurant's roof got ripped off by the tornado. ._.
