Summer is at a different time of year in the Southern Hemisphere - the elections are stated as "Summer of 2011", meaning Northern Hemisphere summer. Maybe LordSydney thought of it as Southern Hemisphere seasons?

Oh! I'd completely forgotten about that! Thanks for the clarification. 

Maybe the title of this topic should be changed to clarify it's the Northern hemisphere's summer.

Well, if you plan on losing interest in Scratch then will you really be committed to moderating?

Well, I would mod for a certain amount of time then move on, but my interest will probably die if I were to miss this election (and I understand I might not win, but thats another story)

But a good moderator is committed to moderating and committed to Scratch. Of course, everyone will get bored eventually, but if you plan on losing interest in Scratch soon, I don't suggest running for mod.

It was election day originally, but in the Autumn elections, there was quite a lot of not knowing when the elections would be exactly - therefore not knowing the cut-off date. So I asked Lightnin, and he changed it to being by the end of the calendar month (so the last election's age limit cut-off was October 31).
