This thread is not really advanced. But since it deals with a mod (well, sort of, see below), I put it here.
I'm making a tool for making a Scratch mod. It will be coded in HTML, and posted online on a website, along with a downloadable version. It's name is Scramble.
I was wondering if the EULA applies.
•you cannot use the word "Scratch" to refer to derivative works (except in the phrase "Based on Scratch from the MIT Media Laboratory"),
No problem
•you cannot use the Scratch logo or the official (copyrighted) Scratch cat in derivative works,
Can I add the Scratch cat below the header of the HTML?
•you cannot implement the ability to upload projects to any MIT Scratch website (currently, http://scratch.mit.edu),
No problem
•copies or derivative works must retain the Scratch copyright notice and license, and
you must make the source code for derivative works available.
How ablout for this? It isn't a 'derivative'...

Derivative work means work that will gain money to you right? If so you are probably fine, just don't make us pay for your mod. XD

It's not a mod, though. It's a tool. Like a Paint Editor that is optimized for Scratch (I don't want to give the exact use yet, it's a surprise
).

I have thought abut making a thing like paint using the source code, after erasing all of the scratch part, but I found out, I'm not ready yet. LOL XD

So does it belong here or not?

If mod share is listed, then Scramble should be too. I'll probably be done with it really soon, I just need to file in all the Scratch blocks, and code them. That is a lot of work, but it requires quite little thought
.

@Pecola1: Derivative means coming from something (in this case Scratch), and not that you gain money from it (profitable).
Anyway, from what I understand, your work is not a derivative of Scratch. It's a tool built in HTML which has absolutely no relation with Scratch -- or does it?

No, I think he wants to make a paint program based off the Scratch paint editor. He also wants to know if he's allowed to use the cat in his site, I think.

You're right. Well, the relation is that it compiles to MIT SmallTalk, so it can help make mods.

Smalltalk shouldn't be any problem -- unless you mean that it automatically edits the Scratch source to produce a finished image based on Scratch

Oh... I somehow knew that, just I wasn't making the sounds in my head and though it was pronounced dare-ive-it-av or something... I know what the word meant but I only knew what the word sounded like meant... but I didn't know how to pronounce it so I didn't know what it meant. I think I may be confusing you. o.0
