thebuilderdd, why is it such a big deal? Honestly? You don't just choose your nickname, it comes from your friends and the people around you? Its not like they are offensive or mean.

it's about being short/memorable. I will call you "builder" rather than omit the very middle of your name for "thedd"

Sometimes it's hard to understand why different people react the way they do to certain situations.  But now that thebuilderdd has explained how he/she would like to be addressed, I think it's only polite that we try to accommodate the request.   Simply use the name as given, no big deal right?  It's a simple cut-and-paste.

Last Note: I have no intentions of being annoying. I'm just sick of all these "oh my gosh someone called me a nickname lets go make a thread to tell them that they shouldn't" threads.

Different things are important to different people.  If it's no big deal to you, why not humor the request?  Or at least not go out of your way to be confrontational about it?  If it bothers you excessively, just don't post to the topic or address the person by any name.  There is room in here for everybody

It's just a shorter name, because we have lazy people who want to call you builderdd, tbdd, or anything else. Sometimes a shorter name is one you want. I prefer for someone to call me Mac.

Seriously, you don't choose a nickname. It's just something people give you and use to recognize you and shorten your name.

It happened a long time ago, someone did and I like it. I think it is easier than typing i-h-a-v-e-a-m-a-c (9 letters). Or just call me lazy.
