Yeah, I pointed that out to her. She said she didn't mind the T being a capital.

I don't get why it's a big deal. You can call me SM, Sm, sM, or sm. Doesn't make a difference.
And you can call me SM, Sm, sM, or sm. Or Super Mario.

come on. ANOTHER topic about this? If I was responding to one of my own posts, I'd just call myself skittles. I'm sorry, but I don't think you'll get that much sympathy on this.

I'll call you 'The'

No not that ethier.

thebuilderdd, why is it such a big deal? Honestly? You don't just choose your nickname, it comes from your friends and the people around you? Its not like they are offensive or mean.

annoying much?

it's about being short/memorable. I will call you "builder" rather than omit the very middle of your name for "thedd"

I don't see how this can offend you, no offence. I wouldn't mind if everyone called me Tom, or tomic, and I certainly wouldn't mind if everyone called me cool. XD
But really. It shows we know you, and lets you know we're friends. I mean, if everyone was your enemy, they'd probably come up with something a lot worse.Sometimes it's hard to understand why different people react the way they do to certain situations. But now that thebuilderdd has explained how he/she would like to be addressed, I think it's only polite that we try to accommodate the request. Simply use the name as given, no big deal right? It's a simple cut-and-paste.

That seems pretty unfriendly...why would you do that?
Its not that I'm trying to be unfriendly, its that i'm trying to problem a point.
When someone starts calling you a nickname, it'll either fade away or stick.
(I'll stop calling you that after a while *whenthisthreadisclosed*)
And most of the time, people do it to attract your attention.
I called you builderDD because i knew it would grab your attention, so i could make my point clear.

Last Note: I have no intentions of being annoying. I'm just sick of all these "oh my gosh someone called me a nickname lets go make a thread to tell them that they shouldn't" threads.Different things are important to different people. If it's no big deal to you, why not humor the request? Or at least not go out of your way to be confrontational about it? If it bothers you excessively, just don't post to the topic or address the person by any name. There is room in here for everybody

I'm often called 'Floppy', which gets annoying for me, but it is easier to write than floppy_gunk and I don't complain.

It's just a shorter name, because we have lazy people who want to call you builderdd, tbdd, or anything else. Sometimes a shorter name is one you want. I prefer for someone to call me Mac.

Thank you.
Seriously, you don't choose a nickname. It's just something people give you and use to recognize you and shorten your name.

It happened a long time ago, someone did and I like it. I think it is easier than typing i-h-a-v-e-a-m-a-c (9 letters). Or just call me lazy.
