Re: How would you convert a gif to bmp

a better option would have been total image converter which saves all images in .gif (animated) as a .jpeg multimage folder  smile

jpegs wouldn't be optimal for this situation, though.

I always use PNGs. If you ran Linux is could dig up an Imagemagik script for it, but you don't.

Re: How would you convert a gif to bmp

Ah a png image gets converted to low level jpeg and also losing the transparency init . trust me i dealt with that problem alot  smile   a jpeg with 100% quality will be equivalent in quality as .png but wont lose semi transparency .. as it just wont have it 8-)

Re: How would you convert a gif to bmp

Find the file in Windows Explorer. Let's say the file name is "scratch.gif" Change the "gif" to "bmp". This may result in a little bit of color loss so have a backup image.

Hope this helped.  smile

But in newer computers you can't just change a filetype like that...  hmm

"How would you convert a gif to bmp?"
Simple. I wouldn't.

But if you really want to use GIMP.

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.
