That's why I trust private schools more.

Except for the fact that all private schools go too easy on kids. XD Plus, at my public school, they all treat you like collage kids no matter what grade you are in... not as in difficulty but really how they treat you. They expect people to be more mature, and usually they are after going there. Seriously... it's such a nice school, they aren't too strict or too careless... it's just plain AWESOME compared to private school.

WRONG!! EVERY time I forget my friday folder, my teacher hits me on the head with THE WHOLE FREAKING STACK OF THEM. And 24 layers of cardboard hitting your head at about 3 MPH does NOT feel great. And I ONCE tried to help someone with with a math problem. WHAP goes the math textbook, on my head. She hit me on the part of my head which shelters the part of the brain that helps you stay focused. THAT doesn't help, and I might be getting diagnosed with ADD. Geez, THAT seems like a good reason to hit someone on the head. I hate school.

Re: This is Not Normal

my school is really crowded, and it has a magnet program that I'm in. magnet kids can be really weird, and the teachers too.
there's even a website where people post quotes from teachers and students. its a big waste of time (well for students who have to do a LOT of homework, we are given enough homework to make some of us stay up until 1 am doing homework...)

most of the other kids think scratch is lame, because it is really slow and doesn't support very many features. It makes me unhappy that I can't talk about scratch with some of them (they program, in c++ and java and python and assembly even, but they don't know how to do graphics well. everything they know about scratch is probably from this one thing we did in comp sci where we had to do animations. the school still used 1.2.1 instead of 1.4, and so they thought scratch was really primitive, and they still think it has no arrays, or strings, or text input. they like text input way too much.)

I think you could report that teacher to the police for child abuse.

Probably a good idea.

Good thing i'm homeschooled lol  big_smile

But think about it: two things that could change public schools for good forever...
1. There's a big war that breaks out. So the kids get disciplined by their parents and the government in the process.
2. In the future, when technology is way better, there's a 'holo-deck' where kids actually get to be in events from the past, so it makes them want to pay attention way more. You could also use it as punishment to unleash the individual student's worst fear on them (lol).

And that's why I learn on my computer at home, so I can play tons of online games and mess around on MS Paint. Just kidding, but I did do that on the first days of online school..

I learned about it in 4th grade. Believe me, there are worse things than that. In preschool, some dorfs were forcing me to eat mud. Luckily, I splashed it on their fancy-schmancy clothes.  big_smile  Go mee

Re: This is Not Normal

My school is pretty cool. Except for my Math teacher. I hate her. I don't have time to tell the story...unless someone wants me to tell the story... though i doubt it.

I am seeing some pretty messed up things in these schools.

Pregnant in school? That's messed up.

Ganstas? Oh we have some fraud "Gangstas" who think they are cool. They are not.

Abusive teachers? Get to the social services choppa!

Nonseparated erm... classes... not right

My school is like ten times better then some of the schools out there i guess...

Swearing small children? Kids these days man... they know too much for their age.

My 5th grade teacher had us make towers out of paper.  and giant pendulums for getting things around the room.  And then blow bubbles.  This was all during class time.
