different is usually good, but I propose we go for a different kind of different, perhaps we just make a game that nobody else thought of, something simple, elegant, and professional that's actually fun and addictive. using an original idea with original gameplay. that is not only a huge challenge to do, but when achieved it creates the perfect game . so instead of brainstorming kinds of games that others have made, why not brainstorm ideas for games that no one has made?

Yes, we should be doing that
How about a sort of cannon game in first person, not third? You cannon the beach ball and aim at the ninja stars, and the squiggly line can be the power-meter for the cannon.
Is that too simple? We can always add tons of art, or have multiple levels, or obstacles, or achievements... blah blah blah

Explosive Beach Balls? I like.
Ninjas are attacking beverly hills beach, and your the last line of defense, and you have to explodiate the ninjas back to the Japan.
We can do it.

i think that sounds awesome, one thing i'm worried about is the first person part though. it's hard to make a fun first person game like that in scratch
why not do a sideways one? it could still have the same concept, but it would be more professional looking and more addictive, not to mention easier to create levels for.
what does everyone think about that?
EDIT: sorry for being such a downer guys , i just want to get us all off to the best start possible, and i love the cannon idea!!!

Not a downer.
I don't know. Either are possible, but which would you guys rather do?

I don't like the cannon idea at all though.

It's not that much of a feat anyway.

Lol, I don't have a problem with that.

There are too many sideways cannon projects... let's do ours differently
*waits for other opinions*

i dunno, i guess there are other cannon games, but im still not for any 3d style games, they just don't usually turn out well

+1 Most 3D games on Scratch (maybe all except for Coin Runner) are ugly and glitchy.

Uh, okay... but we should try and do it in a unique way - okay, maybe 50% unique if it's too hard
Unique projects ftw
Of course, TheSaint is the leader here and his opinion is very important, don't forget

I meant programming feat. Don't try to act smart when you don't even know what you're talking about.

I meant programming feat. Your game isn't exactly groundbreaking either pal. Also, incase you haven't noticed, I don't think that there is a game on scratch in 3-D that can run smoothly (Seeing as most people don't have giant-ultra computers that make anything go smooth.) But hey, let the best team win.
Teammates: I will have a quick demo posted by tommorow of a 3-D cannon. Then we can choose if thats what we want to do.

You're the most modest person I've ever met!

Yeah this is pretty much the case. Unless you want wireframe or are good at blender 3D is not the way to go.

Thanks. Being modest is one of my best traits.

I don't even think this is a competition. It would be very un-Scratch-Team-ish.

This reminds me of something funny.
So, what else then?
Ideas:
Scribblenauts (10/10 difficulty)
Animation (4/10 Difficulty)
Volleyball (3/10 Difficulty)
Quidditch (8/10 Difficulty)
Indestructo Tank (6/10 Difficulty)

Also, just a quick demo of how the cannon would work (Already made it, might as well show it.)
