Scratch

JonathanPB started up an unneeded "movement" of sorts and proposed the idea. The Scratch Team followed through with it for reasons that have never been explained.

I think it was moved because it was clogging up the forums.

I personally like it better there anyway.

Yeah...

"Too much work for moderators"

I'm pretty sure there is a way to limit a mod's power to a specific board.

Yeah it was. There's more to it though than merely the issue that TBGs caused excess work for mods - most of us older mods thought that the TBGs often had little to no relation to Scratch and that the main forums could do without it (personally, I wanted it gone for good).

What made it utimately stay, though, was that TBGs did support an idea behind the Lifelong Kindergarten Group (the entity which Scratch is part of). Hence the compromise to have TBGs moved elsewhere.

I have had a question about that, and I never understood: Why did we move it then? We could have just got new mods and you guys forget about it and mod where its *ahem* more important, but still keep it in it's original spot. Why did the entire thing have to be moved, crashing everyones old TBGs?

Because most of the mods thought the TBGs had almost no relation to Scratch, the TBGs were ultimately moved elsewhere. Moving the TBGs just keeps things less cluttered on the main forums.

That's a cruel thing to say and it's not true.        


I did list reasons in my suggestion topic (here) - and the Scratch Team did explain why they moved the TBG:
