The American CIA...

My older cousin works for a bakery that makes really fancy cakes, and once she was delivering them to a party when...

WRONG TURN

She enters a CIA building.

30 people rush out with guns pointed at her car, accusing her of being a terrorist, a spy, a drunkard, a drug dealer, etc.

The CIA is soooo intelligent, it took them half an hour to figure out that she was not a threat.

She doesn't even look like a threat, I can tell you that.  tongue

What strokes of genius have you witnessed in authority figures?
I think that incident was a winner though.  lol

Re: The American CIA...

Well, what would you rather they do? We came terrifyingly close to another terrorist attack a few weeks ago. A terrorist could be anyone. People don't suspiciously speed into a CIA parking lot often. I know it was an accident, but you can never be too safe. I currently have legal access to every Air Force base in the country, and I know some easy ways a terrorist could sneak a bomb on base, an it scares me.

I mean it took them 30 minutes to figure out that she wasn't a threat.

Though driving into the CIA should not have been so easy.  lol

You overlooked one important factor Illusionist: people are elaborate in their terror schemes these days. She could've had anything in her van. Heck, there could've been a bomb in the cake  tongue

Don't forget about the seemingly ordinary guy who hid a bomb in his underwear or how Al Qaida tried to ship a bomb to Chicago.

But they would have to search all of the compartments the van. If something happened (say your cousin was a terrorist, but not saying she is lol) wouldn't you feel dumb saying, "well it only took two minutes to search the van." They have to search every compartment, the cousin(which probably included a metal scan), the cake, and  question the cousin, to be absolutely sure that there is no threat. It isn't everyday someone drives a bakery van into a government building  tongue

Still, 30 people won't all look in the exact same place for 30 minutes.  hmm

and why was it so easy to get in?  yikes

True, but they probably wanted to be extra careful, even though it shouldn't take that long.

Why was it so easy to get in? That's my question  tongue  They can haz gate with keypad?

Yes, yes I do. I'm a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol, and every cadet is issued an ID card, which grant's free pass to the base.
