So, how about reading?

Hmm... maybe. I don't have many interesting books at home that I haven't read, though...

Exactly.
You're supposed to read a book that you don't find particularly interesting, or you might end up staying up all night reading it.

Re: Scratch-induced Insomnia?

I find that intense physical exercise helps me a lot. Try kayaking a mile before you sleep, it works wonders.

Kayaking...ok...now to find a place with a big river near where I live  big_smile

But exercise seems like a good idea. I'll go run a ton this afternoon, I guess. Or swim.

Re: Scratch-induced Insomnia?

I like to jump on my trampoline, but since not very many people have a trampoline, you could....
Swim
Walk 1/2 a mile
Do kenpo videos (rent them from blockbusters or whatever)

Cooking also can help you sleep. If you make something with lunchmeats or tomatos, it can help you fall asleep.

@rufflebee:
You should make a history of the goats thread explain the goats xD

Swimming is very tiring.

And I don't make threads lol. My threads always go off topic, if you haven't noticed XD

I wonder if this is part of the reason Scratchers quit. It would make sense...

Lunch meats and tomatos. They do contain any chemicals that will keep you up, and some lunch meats like turkey contain a special chemical that has been known to give sedative effects. Bananas, bell peppers, tuna, chicken, spinach, halibut, nuts, artichokes, wheat and oat bran, beans, dairy like cheeses and milk, tofu, salmon, orange juice, cereal, potatoes, crackers, bread, pretzels, and dates are known to work too.  tongue  And hold for the applause

I mean, to get back on schedule. If something was keeping you up all night, wouldn't you stop it?

Re: Scratch-induced Insomnia?

Ok...

Last night, I decided to try some of the things you guys suggested.

I jogged for half an hour, read part of a boring book, and then counted 2 goats over and over in bed. It didn't seem to really work  sad

Although, actually, I think I fell asleep earlier than usual  smile

So, thanks for the suggestions!

Did you try eating different foods than usual? The best foods before bed arelisted above, but nuts, dairy, and lunchmeats like turkey help.

Re: Scratch-induced Insomnia?

I couldn't go to sleep for ages last night, the main reason was because I was thinking about scratch but my parents sent me to bed at 10:00 so I wasn't tired anyway. Plus there was this annoying dog barking from next door. I couldn't concentrate on my book and I just wanted to sneak downstairs to go on the computer.

@antimonyarsenide Try getting up really early in the morning, then you will probably be tired the next day. I do it all the time.

Hmm... maybe the salad kept you up. Was it right before bed or a couple hours earlier?

2 hours before, approximately.

Yeah. It might have been the salad. I guess you can't help that though. Ask your mom or dad if you can have these more in your dinners:

Lunch meats, tomatoes, bananas, bell peppers, tuna, chicken, spinach, halibut, nuts, artichokes, wheat and oat bran, beans, dairy like cheeses and milk, tofu, salmon, orange juice, cereal, potatoes, crackers, bread, pretzels, and dates.

No sheep are involved.

Counting before bed doesn't really work- it keeps the brain stimulated, and makes you just NEED to get to the next number.

Alright, so the last part's not true, but it does keep the brain stimulated.

By the way, does the word 'doesn't' look strange to you? I'm afraid I'm spelling it incorrectly.
