Re: GIF Sprite

If I remember correctly, you just have to drag the GIF image from the folder it's in into the Scratch window.

Yawn.

Re: GIF Sprite

Really? That's odd; I was able to just import the GIF with the "import" button. ...Can you do that too?

Re: GIF Sprite

Using the Import button works for me too... oh well, Ur-86, just try drag-and-drop or the import button.

Re: GIF Sprite

Importing GIFs as a sprite won't work: It'll import the first costume. Instead, you'll have to either

* drag and drop the image
* import the GIF as a costume

and you'll be well in the clear  smile

Re: GIF Sprite

...i can't import or drag and drop... i can only view the full gif with internet explorer. it's saved in pictures though. If i try to import, the image of the gif is blank. if i drag that in nothing happens

Re: GIF Sprite

Sorry, how are you trying to do it? Try following these steps:

- Save the image to your computer
- Make a sprite (it can be a dot or anything)
- Press the "import" button in the "costumes" tab.
- Import your image.

Re: GIF Sprite

Are you sure the image is a .gif file?

Re: GIF Sprite

Maybe someone just typed .gif after it but saved it as a different filetype?

You should get the shareware version of GraphicsGale (or get a similar good program), load the .Gif into it, then re-save it as a .gif.

If that doesn't work then I don't know ... maybe the file got corrupted?

Re: GIF Sprite

I'd try re-saving it anyway. Some files are older versions and may work a little different.
This could be the case with this. If a re-save don't work, then try re-downloading it.
If that don't work I guess you're back to square one.
But it's always best to try everything that you can.

You know what I find funny? Yoda from Star Wars says "Do or Do Not, there is no Try",
but it's a Lie I tells ya! ... You simply can't fit a square peg in a round hole!, But you sure as 'ell can Try!
