Link to project feature; good or bad

I'm just want to know others peoples opinions on this topic. Please give me pro's or cons (good things or bad tings) and a rating out of ten as too how good or bad they are. Oringanally this was a good idea, but too many people have misused it, so it is now bad.

For example:

Cons:
spamming 10/10

Pros:
Eaiser way too share projects 3/10

I don't know why you are interested about this, or what the ratings indicate, but I will participate:

Cons:
Spamming 10/10

Pros:
There are none. People misused it WAY to much to give it any pros

The ratings resemble how good or bad a feature is. For instance, spamming, 10/10, that means its really bad

Re: Link to project feature; good or bad

Spamming: 5/10: I really don't mind spammers. You don't need to feel like you have to look at their project (unless it has something to do with yours), and it just adds one more comment to your project  tongue . You can always delete it if it bothers you.

Sharing: 8/10: Although I'd prefer a way to add links similar to the forums, I've never had to give a link to a page outside of Scratch, so I think the system works fine.

In my case, the pro of sharing outweighs the con of spamming. I wouldn't like to see this feature go.

Thanks for the feedback. We're thinking about experimenting with a mechanism that will allow people to post the same comment or links a maximum of 2 or 3 times.

Re: Link to project feature; good or bad

Here's your first unhappy customer!  Maybe it should only reject similar links, not similar text.

Re: Link to project feature; good or bad

no one likes spammers but you can easily ignore a small link.  The Advantages Hugely outweigh the cons.  Scratch is about Sharing Ideas and Projects and often a link is an easy way to direct someone to a project that is similar to theirs and may be of interest to them.
Many gallerys at the moment do not allow everyone to add projects but instead ask people for a link before deciding to accept the project which, to me, seems reasonable and would not be possible without links.
