But I'm getting rather off topic (this about Scratch in Flash, ne?  ).

It's hard to say whether or not the idea of using Flash is a totally bad thing, as no one here really knows for sure how Flash is going to be incorporated into Scratch.

I do recall seeing a thread about Stencyl by Scratch user Jon914, which seems to incorporate ideas from Scratch and Flash, but perhaps the Scratch Team has something quite different in mind. It certainly would be great to hear what plans the Scratch Team has in terms if using Flash (if they have one. I recall that the Scratch Team has said the idea of using Flash is not quite definite or sure), before suddenly jumping to any big conclusions. After all: how in the world can we say if Flash is bad for Scratch if we have no idea how Flash is being used with Scratch in the first place?

Very good reasoning, I didn't realize that you could do that with the trial version, normaly, as my dad says, it runs home to mummy. Basicly it tells Adobe that it has been installed and it won't let you install it again afterwards. But anyway, Stencyl was a good idea, but its not really my cup of tea, I found it to limiting. And yes, how can people complain about it when they haven't tried it or know what its like.

I still don't understand what people are thinking about this. installing scratch 2.0 won't delete the files for panther, or any other scratch mods. they just won't 1.) be in flash and 2.) have updates from scratch 2.0. they just have to program those features in! also, scratch mods are programs like scratch, that have been modified (mod is shorter) so they have new blocks and other new features.

I happen to say that the team that made Panther and Streak and BYOB and Peck and the rest of the modmakers all those join up and assist with Java programmers to update the ScratchApplet, then a COMPLETE REWRITE 1. wouldnt be neccesary, saving a lot of work
and the modders would have to switch out and watcher Panther 1.1, Byob 3, and the other hard-worked mods dont turn into the pile of trash.
And the idea that Scratch working online? Thats asking to kill some computers. Squeak might not be able to work online, but ppl like NXII jens and all those people i know who are pros at Squeak may be able to reincarnate Mesh and Networking Squeak for use.

And Offline Editing is convient enough. If you cant download for some reason (you were banned) then you just failed that test    but well, a complete rewrite is NOT NECCESARY.

Actionscript 2 is waaaaaaaay easier to figure out, 3 I'm not so sure.

Flash does not cost money to edit, it costs money to buy flash CS4.

What "new languages"

Mods can carry on, they're mods. They don't have to be in flash.

Most of your points make absolutely no sense.

Sorry guys, but Scratch is not being made to be modded. That is out of the question...
