Don't be so sure! They're bound to do something with an idea with 23 supporters and counting.

Should be self-explanatory.

Here's my mockup (the same thing just a little neater):

I don't think that's needed - a comment attached to the hat block should do fine  smile

That actually does make a pretty good point  big_smile  But I still think labelling would be a good idea - it just seems a lot more to-the-point.

Yeah, it seems more thought out that way.

I don't think that's enough... it happens weekly or so, right?  tongue

Re: Collapsable Scripts

Maybe something like this:
<when green flag clicked>
[blocks]<do sequence[XYZ]>[/blocks]     <-This was supposed to be a block  sad
where sequence would be another tab that stores sequences.  It'd be nice to be able to export sequences like we can do sprites with scripts.

So something like blocks that you can make yourself? I think this has been suggested a lot before, and somebody even modified Scratch to allow for that, but at the moment you can just use broadcasts to achieve that effect  smile  Still, that's not entirely a "collapsable" script as it is a "collapsed" script - to find what sequence XYZ is you would need to look long and hard.

I think I see what you're meaning... so a block that runs a script?
Not tryng to be mean, but the suggestion here was the ability to collapse an entire script, not a block that holds scripts, but as coolstuff said, you can just use broadcasts to do this.

Maybe you could write a description for it, so when you scroll over it it says your description. I am a supporter  big_smile

Nice idea! I could see how a large description could be counter-intuitive to what this is trying to achieve.

Re: Collapsable Scripts

Really cool idea - thanks for suggesting it! We are committed to having Procedures / Functions in the next version of Scratch (basically - you can make your own block that does what you tell it). It's not clear if that would reduce the need for collapsible scripts or not. It's definitely something to think about though...great suggestion!

My guess is that it won't be quite as complicated as BYOB, but that looks to be the case  big_smile

Re: Collapsable Scripts

At first I didn't like this idea, but I like all the working together that has been done to organize the features of a Collapsable Script. Now, as far as I can tell, there would be no mistaking one collapsed block from the other because of that amazing idea of mousing over and being able to see the script.  An option I also wouldn't mind is right clicking, and having the option to 'collapse all scripts', so you could collapse a bunch of scripts at once. So, add me to the support list!  cool

You can take a "sneak preview" of some limited Scratch 2.0 capabilities here(from what I can deduce): designblocks.net

That's less of a version of Scratch 2.0 than a warm-up for 2.0. They'll take what they learned from making DesignBlocks and apply it to 2.0 - the two are, however, not related.
