Commercial ones have larger fanbases and mroe people to play with.

I like making up TCGs    But soupoftomato is right... If you can make full decks and lots of cards, you could give cards to your friends, and they could give them to their friends, and to theirs, you could get a lot of players, and most of them would go to your school, live in your neighborhood, etc.

Or, you could use flash to make a virtual TCG, sort of like what Nexon did with the MapleStory TCG.
or some other program...

  I had to pay for mine. What kind of deck do you have? Mine's black and green.

Mine has a little bit of everything, but I usually use the same xD They have my best cards.

Yeha, you can get a whole branch going if you start like that. Again that is true, playing online.
