Cool but though im 12 i don't have animation that bad just look at the nitrome sprite resources, no misjudgements, as soon as the summer is over and im in britain again ill do it:)<switch to costume[ smile5 ] >

It looks like it worked, but I accedentily spelled the .sb file wrong so it said it couldn't read the file. Oops.

First, the really-necessary Scratch application files should be added.
Browse for the Scratch installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\Scratch") and add the following files:

Scratch.exe
Scratch.image
Scratch.ini
ScratchPlugin.dll
Mpeg3Plugin.dll
UnicodePlugin.dll

Click "Add" again, Now browse for your scratch project and click "Open".
In this example, it's called project.sb .

Now you added All the required files to the installer package, so click "Next" to continue.

7> As "Install program", we are going to fill in the Scratch application.
Fill in
Scratch.exe "scratch.image" presentation "project.sb"
in "Install Program". (the first text box)

Replace project.sb with the name of your project. (so if your project is named "racing game.sb", fill in
Scratch.exe "scratch.image" presentation "racing game.sb"

Leave "Post Install Command" (the second text field) as it is: "<none>" and Click "Next".

8> In the "Show Window" step, you should select "hidden". That way the unpacking program will not be shown. Click "Next", again...

10> In "Package name and options", click browse and save your final EXE file. I named it like my project - project.EXE

Check both options:
- Hide File Extracting Progress Animation from user (We wan't the project to show up, no ugly 12-years-old animation  big_smile  )
- Store file using Long File Name inside package (Scratch uses long filenames - It won't work without this option checked - I tried it out.)

And Click "Next" again

So long as they have Windows (above but not 95 like JSO said) it will work.

Yes but the point of the EXE is to give it to a friend who doesn't have Scratch. But you do have a point but are your friends going to use ALT+F4?

I don't understand what I need to type in for step seven.

So I put in all of this:
Scratch.exe "scratch.image" presentation "project.sb"

Everything else went great but when I opened the exe I got: Could not read:project.sb.

That probably means you spelled the project filename wrong. Did you replace "project.sb" with "thenameofyourproject.sb" ?

From what I think, the point of converting a scratch application into an .exe file, is too allow others to view your project(/s) quicker. Instead of downloading scratch and then a project, you can just bundle those two things for convenience.
