After taqking a look at the cog thing, I'd say that its quite cool but I personaly think Asimo is more advanced, since it has legs and hands, plus it doesn't take 3 hours to teach it something new.
But Asimo has a computer, and Cog doesn't. Cog has artificial brain cells. That's way more realistic.

Why not make BYOB in Panther using CYOB?

Or make Panther in BYOB using Elements...

Does it matter if it has braincells and not a computer, Asimo works fine as he is, he doesn't need braincells.

But Cog learns in a much more realistic way because he uses actual brain cells instead of a computer.

Ok, this conversation has been nice (from what I've read) but it doesn't really answer the original question. Jps, I would use cool stuff's project http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/coolstuff/1034493 for your AI. It finds the quickest route around obstacles extremely quickly, and should be easy to adapt to.

But what about the moving Person part? I knew abt it but its NOT FOR MOVING

Asimo has legs and hands, and learns quicker.

legs and hands are not the point. We are talking about AI. And Cog learns in a much more realistic way.

answer to post 1
Learn C++
and learn about object oriented use someone else's libray or download a game engine
and work out what it means that should be easy to adapt
what you didn't say in scratch.....

jeez. you two are like two children arguing over who would win in a fight between spiderman and superman! They're both extraordinary feats of programming and engineering. Leave it at that

i took a look at the AI script shadow
when i first saw the game and tried it out i thought it was promiseing
but when i downloaded it and looked at the script involved it was too complicated to adapt
even worse it nearly crashed my puter
i think if i could look at it in depth and see how and where to adapt it, it might work but i can't run thoroughly enough to look past 1/100 of it cos' it absalutely huge amount of script on 1 sprite.
another thing i noticed is you have to palnt the maze this is'nt too bad i just get rid of clear ink but the maze i'm using is quite big and the time it would take to read the script in depth and understand it then adapt it and THEN imprint it would take a little over a year and that's all right but i don't have that much at the moment with gcse exams 'n stuff comin' up all in the next 1 'n' 1/2 years as i write this scratch is stiull closing just to you gve you an idea of how infinately large a nd complicated the script is. but i will admit it is what i was looking for, a true ai.
it analyses the walls and find's a way through independantly. it's adaptable to every possibility of mazes, it learns the maze to find the way but what would happen if the goal moved it takes about 5 sec's to learn it would do that every time the goal moved from pixel to pixel it would work but it would go to slow. despite that it would still work making it a true AI
thank you shadow for poiting out that masterpeice it works but it not quite what i need i will try and read it thoroughy and pick out what makes it find the way, right now it is too slow and i think it is cos' the end user set's the maze if it followed the same maze repetively it might run to proper speeds until someone plays with the script i just won't know if it works.

I admit it looks promising, though I would have to say that unless it recognises a maze it has done before and uses previous knowledge to find the way out it would not be truly intelligent

Ok, I think im beat, but I still think Asimo is better, my own opinion. End of arguement.

If this were panther then you could save the information to a file.

It doesn't have to learn to be an artificial intelligence. Ever heard of a Pathfinding AI? That's what Coolstuff's project is. It is still artificial intelligence. And I might be able to help you adapt it, if I have time...

An AI that leans is a much better AI than that does not.

[off topic], subh, since the wiki moved to the scratch site, I can't log into it to change the Panther page (which claims it's still due to be released) ... do I have to make a new account?

So from what I could tell (before my computer froze up), the length of the project really only comes from copying the same scripts over and over again to increase the speed of the pathfinding. So if you were to eliminate the repeated scripts (though it would decrease the speed a lot), you would have a much more managable script to work with.

Inorder to Log in to the wiki, you need to Request for an account in the Scratch Wiki thread (Announcements) They will give you an ID soon and only then you can Log in.
If you want to get anything added, just contact one of us and tell us what you want to add.(Comment on any of my project/gallery). Telling us is a lot easier as you will have to wait quite long to get an account
I've changed it. It now says "It has been released in April 2010"
