Apple has just removed the Scratch player for the iPhone/iTouch! Why you ask? Because they hate us. When I asked andresmh(via Twitter), he replied "Scratch kinda lets anyone create an iPhone app and it seems like they want to decide who can and who cannot do that". Basically, Apple hates us.

They removed it?
*thud*
Yes, I fell off my chair.

Good one.
Maybe We can release a third-party app not available at the app store.

I'm sure an Android app is possible. And there is always soft board for Samsung phones, but that is more for games, not apps.

That app couldn't run much anyways, I could've bought 4 songs with that.
Steve Jobs should stop being such a jerk anyways.

I will KILL apple now! D:<
Thanks for letting me know.
Me itouch kind of broke.

Really? I still have the app downloaded. Still I hate it anyways. It's a waste of money.
plus apple *? You allow games that are HORRIBLE but you dont allow scratch? [Innapropriate remark against apple, even though they deserved it removed by lonwol]

I saw this coming. Apple has banned all third party software from creating ipod apps. What they did to scratch was nothing compared to what they did to Adobe. Flash CS5's biggest feature was the ability to make flash programs for the iphone and because Apple has banned this the usefulness of flash CS5 has gone down a lot.
Its a business decision. Apple wants to be in complete control of what can make apps for their machines so they ban all app creators except their own. Of course, they can take all the hate from developers because the mindless Apple legions will still love them.

thats stupid, first the ipad and now this? apple is going down hill.
the ipad took the whole purpose of an ipod (making it pocket sized) and got rid of it
and this is a complete waste of time and effort.

If you bought an iPad you are telling Apple that what they did was acceptable and because they have you money and will continue to take your money they will not change the way they do things. So if you really want to tell Apple what they did was bad refuse to buy their products until they change things.

Heh. Apple is losing my respect, even though they already did. So your saying that they RELEASED, an app maker, and LET people create there own apps, but now they wont even let them distibute it? Talk about power hungry.

I'd only buy iTunes songs, cards, and iPhone/Touch. Nothing else. I actually....Kinda HATE Macs! Sometimes(but rarely)the iPods are faulty, even the touches some time. And those are the latest ones...The shuffle is cheap and compact, but I don't find a point for them always on shuffle. I dun really like Apple. I understand why, I just don't think that's good enough reason.

Just because Steve Jobs isn't smart because he couldn't get into MIT
Double Win
And probably worse ones as well. *nod, nod*

No, this is a recent development from Apple that occurred in the last week or so. Probably as a response to flash CS5. At the time the scratch app was made 3rd party creation tools were welcome.
And Apple is more power hungry then you think. They ban all apps that are similar to theirs so that their apps have no competition.

Actually this was a good business decision as they are creating a monopoly on the software creation tools (which only run on Macs). However, what is good for Apple as a business is bad for software developers which I guess would include scratch users.
If you really want to tell Apple that you don't like this stop buying iTunes cards and send them an email telling them they have lost a customer because of their policies.
This whole deal is much bigger than just scratch.

Yup. A lot of people hate Apple
But seriously, not 3rd party apps? Has Apple gone insane(well, more than already)?

many people get music... off the internet instead if you know what i'm saying. lol so they've already lost money

There will always be people that don't pay for intellectual property but Apple is doing pretty well in the music department being the biggest music retailer in the US. They passed Wal-Mart as the biggest music retailer about 2 years ago.

you could also put this as:
apple supports people who already know what they're doing, but they don't support people who don't what they're doing, but potentially have the ideas to make something incredible
