Better compressor?

Whew, I'm on a roll! One of the major complaints I've harbored about Scratch is its poor compressing abilities. I've seen Flash games with the same file size as other Scratch games, and they pack a lot more (better quality) images and sounds than Scratch games. Can the Scratch team redesign the compressor to resemble Flash's compressor in Scratch 2.0?  cool  Waht do you guys think?

Re: Better compressor?

Flash uses vector graphics, which are a lot smaller than bitmaps (which scratch uses). That's why graphics on flash take up so much less space.

I agree with you though, scratch projects can go way over the 10mb limit just by importing a song, forcing you to compress it until it sounds terrible. I also noticed that sometimes when you first import something, it becomes larger than it started out.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.
