I have a feeling that about half of the Scratchers, are under the age of 14... Thus its only fair to say I'm 14 myself.

Yes! I'm 11. I don't think scratch will "die" infact, I think it will live for many more than 10 years. Its popularity is increasing, never going down at all.  lol

You are eleven?!?! That sure boosts my confidence.

Re: Scratch 2.4 - The Distant Future

According to the community stats, the number of users peak at 12-13.  smile  The graph slopes down sharply either way from there. Knowing people in general, that is at leastthe age most people labelled their accounts with.  tongue
By Scratch 2.4, most users will be into their 20s or at least near them. I, personally, will most likely have moved on to some more complicated program, eg. Adobe Flash, etc.
And I'm not sad.  big_smile  Because Scratch will not be angry at me as some great, omnipotent, irritable being may be, and will not be staring at be with sad puppy eyes as an abandoned dog might. For there will be plenty of inspirational users to replace me.  wink  Whether with warriorcats RPGs or great games; operating systems, physics simulators,  and beyond.
And while the subject is still here, I'm 13.  smile

Whoops, and features that I would like to see in the near/distant future would be:

A "large-scale" duplicate block (e.g. if I want 50 of the same sprite, that will take quite a bit of duplicating. :\)

Less lag on the site/in Scratch (Many large projects require downloads to play without lag...)

@Below: Yeah, Ubuntu will need a Scratch installer for new versions... :s

Scratch 2.4 release notes

-multitouch bugs fixed
-Lego WeDo 5.0 added
-Pico Board upgraded
-Ubuntu 12.9 Fast Ferret installer
-[blocks]<forever if>[/blocks] obsolete

Well, does it help new Scratchers? What does "good" mean in your sentence?

Good thoughts about the future? Even though this should be renamed because Scratch 2.0 is coming next... instead of 1.5...  tongue

So you are the one being stupid.

10 years from now much can happen, and any which way scratch will either be obsolete or gone

and yes this is in 10 years only, either we will thrive more or the world government will fail, if you don't believe me you're probably some stupid kid who is under the age of 13 or so and you don't know crud about the world

If we don't believe you, it's not because we're stupid. We just see things differently. And why is it that you think that under 13 year olds are stupid if we don't think that those theories will come true? And since when did 13 year olds not know about the world...
