Yall know whats the most funniest thing in this forum...
Everyone attempts subliminal age....
I just couldn't help but notice... Not that it's a bad thing, it's just funny.

hmm...seems like lots of scratchers are 11, 12, or 13. I'm 11.
I have a feeling that about half of the Scratchers, are under the age of 14... Thus its only fair to say I'm 14 myself.

That's not too old for Scratch... But who knows? Maybe Scratch will lose popularity and "die"... Probably not though.
Anyway, I don't mean me at the activity level I am at now, posting projects at least twice a day and posting on the forums regularly, probably checking me messages once a week...
And you're only 11?!?!?
I guess that proves that you don't have to be older to be good at Scratch...![]()
Yes! I'm 11. I don't think scratch will "die" infact, I think it will live for many more than 10 years. Its popularity is increasing, never going down at all.

You are eleven?!?! That sure boosts my confidence.

According to the community stats, the number of users peak at 12-13. The graph slopes down sharply either way from there. Knowing people in general, that is at leastthe age most people labelled their accounts with.
By Scratch 2.4, most users will be into their 20s or at least near them. I, personally, will most likely have moved on to some more complicated program, eg. Adobe Flash, etc.
And I'm not sad. Because Scratch will not be angry at me as some great, omnipotent, irritable being may be, and will not be staring at be with sad puppy eyes as an abandoned dog might. For there will be plenty of inspirational users to replace me.
Whether with warriorcats RPGs or great games; operating systems, physics simulators, and beyond.
And while the subject is still here, I'm 13.
Whoops, and features that I would like to see in the near/distant future would be:
A "large-scale" duplicate block (e.g. if I want 50 of the same sprite, that will take quite a bit of duplicating. :\)
Less lag on the site/in Scratch (Many large projects require downloads to play without lag...)
@Below: Yeah, Ubuntu will need a Scratch installer for new versions... :s

Darn!
Back on topic, I think future release notes will be like this:
Scratch 2.4 release notes
-multitouch bugs fixed
-Lego WeDo 5.0 added
-Pico Board upgraded
-Ubuntu 12.9 Fast Ferret installer
-[blocks]<forever if>[/blocks] obsolete

Well, does it help new Scratchers? What does "good" mean in your sentence?

Good thoughts about the future? Even though this should be renamed because Scratch 2.0 is coming next... instead of 1.5...

Right now I wanna kick you.
In the chest. Because I'm nine and smarter than a 13 year old.
So you are the one being stupid.
I'm sorry moderators, but I'm just totally angry at him.

10 years from now much can happen, and any which way scratch will either be obsolete or gone
-technology in gaming will reach amazing new heights in virtual reality forms and tools, IDE editors, and coding will be incredibly easy, but other complex programming languages will still remain
-there is a doomsday like theory that the US and/or other parts of the world will have government and economic collapses causing for who knows what (as impossible as this seems it is much more possible than really looks like if you know what state the economy is in)
and yes this is in 10 years only, either we will thrive more or the world government will fail, if you don't believe me you're probably some stupid kid who is under the age of 13 or so and you don't know crud about the world
If we don't believe you, it's not because we're stupid. We just see things differently. And why is it that you think that under 13 year olds are stupid if we don't think that those theories will come true? And since when did 13 year olds not know about the world...
People keep quoting part of the post without realizing what the entire thing says...

I think scratch will be outdated The web speeds up learning. i expect in 10 years, for most people to be able to program . languages will get easier and average IQ'S are rising sharply daily. that is if the T-virus does not get made first (4 the resident evil fans)
