ユーザのご指摘によりScratch 1.4の日本語翻訳ファイルに間違いが見つかりましたのでお知らせします。
・演算カテゴリのブロック[( ) を ( ) で割った余り]の引数順が逆になっている。
たとえば、[(9) を (7) で割った余り]が2となるべきところ(9 \\ 7)、7になります(7 \\ 9)。
これは言語を「日本語」にした場合のみ起こり、「にほんご」(ひらがな)では大丈夫です。
・見た目カテゴリのブロック[( ) 番目にする]は[( ) 層下げる]の誤り。
スプライトの前後関係に関する機能ですが、表示レイヤの絶対位置ではなく相対位置を変えるものでした。
「日本語」と「にほんご」の両方に問題があります。
これらを修正した翻訳ファイルを以下に置きました。

展開したファイルを、Scratchをインストールした場所にあるlocaleフォルダ内の同名のファイルと置き換えてお使いください。
公式翻訳サイトのPootleを更新したので、次バージョンにこの修正も含まれると思われますが、しばらくの間はインストール後に手動でこの作業をお願いします。

There are two issues with using translators:
1) Online translation is not perfect, so the wording will almost never come out right, as abee has mentioned earlier.
2) It seems to be that online etiquette dictates that one should not use online translators to translate something because it is rather rude and annoying towards the people who speak it natively or those who are trying their best to learn and communicate in that language. (Basically, it is seen as taking no effort to try and understand the other person's language, almost mocking it actually. After all, look at this thread - the point is to find people on Scratch to communicate with the Japanese language; you're not truly doing that when using a translator, so using an online translator can be seen as insulting to those who know Japanese well enough to use this thread).
