And has your teacher followed up on this? What will he or she do with the information?
Did you give him or her the scratch.mit.edu URL so that he or she could find out more?

Thank you Hiccup and Toasty for letting us know you are telling your teachers about Scratch. That's great to hear, and we'll be interested in any updates.

you might want to take off that signature. (Hiccup, not Lanie)
you shouldnt worry about most of us, but you do want to be safe about what you broadcast.

I also told my teachers, but they generally dont listen.
we did get Google Sketchup though...
Smustard is a great site for that.

i think a teacher would probably use a more open programming list.

My dad's a multi media teacher, he works with animation, T.V. shows and such, he would use this for school, but he would have to put it on a DVD but he can't, well, at least hius students couldn't because it isn't flash, you can put it on a disk, but he has t project it for the class to see, so he can't.

yeah, my teachers could easily use it, but they are just lazy.
i know they can because i saw google desktop on one so i know they can get other stuff.<stupid teachers>

Jman, I don't understand your father's difficulty with using scratch in class. Could you get him to explain it to us?

well, if the wrong person saw that, they might do a little research on you.
it might not seem like it, but you have a surprising amount of data about you online
(everyone, not just hiccup) but in different places.
for instance, if you know about my DF, my AQ, my email, and my scratch, you might just be able to figure out where i live and how old i am.
that could potentially be bad.

The scratch web site team do ask people not to put their e-mail addresses and locations on the scratch web site. They also ask people not to put links to commercial web sites on.
The scratch web site tries to maintain privacy for those who want it, and tries to avoid being a place where spammers can harvest e-mail addresses.
As a Forum Moderator, I have been allowing people to post their personal web sites, where they can put whatever information they want about themselves.
Different people (and their parents) have different beliefs about how much information is appropriate for people to post about themselves on the web. For example, you can find out a lot about me by googling me on the web, and this doesn't bother me. Other people want a lot more privacy.
