I honestly really don't like 2.0. I'm not making projects on the 1.4 website anymore. I'm gonna make a new account and only post 2.0 projects sometimes. I'm gonna make a lot of 1.3 projects (yes, I STILL use 1.3.) but I probably won't be on as much because 2.0 is just confusing. My new account will be PinkiePie55, or if that's taken, PonyPoki. See you guys.
2.0 was just a step to far. Maybe the large time between 1.4 and 2.0 could be used for smaller versions (1.5, 1.6 etc.) that would slowly let the Scratchers get used to 2.0, I just feel that it's step forward too much for me to get used to.
I know what you mean.

Does anyone else remember the Experimental Viewer? It was basically a prototype of Scratch 2.0.

Hello everybody
With the dreaded and also anticipated moment fast approaching us, I wish to say a final farewell to everybody who has contributed to this thread on the current site.
Tonight I am going to copy the contents of this entire forum topic and post it on the 2.0 Forums as a memory.
Over the years Scratch has evolved from a pretty ugly Squeak Smalltalk app, into the Well known Scratch 1.4, and we are now finally preparing for our biggest move yet: Scratch 2.0.
It should be noted about three years have been used to prepare this site for our community to use, and I hope it continues to grow in maturity as the years pass.
For now, it is best to say your final farewells to Scratch 1.4, say goodbyes if you will be leaving us, and to the rest of you, see you on May 9th and Scratch on!

Agreed.

Farewell 1.4. You were always so simple... Unlike that new fangled 2.0.

Why did it skip from 1.4 straight to 2.0? Where is 1.5?
It's because it's a major change (from Squeak to Flash, as well as the whole website change & stuff) so they're incrementing the leftmost number instead.

I don't understand, it still could have been 1.5

It could have, but since it's an extremely major change, and it pretty much is
"Scratch Reborn" they chose to have it be 2.0. Plus, you could infinitely make that argument because it doesn't have to do with number order at all, and they could do 1.11.

It could have, but they decided to do it this way to separate them further and because that's how it's usually done with software.

I'm not gonna make any projects unless 2.0 lets me use the 1.4 program or have an eraser tool. I can't make anything without the eraser tool.
I really don't like the 2.0 layout. But hey, I'll get used to it eventually...
But I'll miss this version of the site. May you rest in peace, 1.4 Scratch.

Scrath 2.0? I don't know exactly what it is, but I have the basic idea that it's some huge update coming to Scratch.
Can someone explain what it is? Sorry, I'm a n00b.

Oh, never mind. I looked it up and found my answer.
It looks cool, and I'm surprised it's coming so fast! A big update to Scratch it seems.

I don't understand why they couldn't just change the editing program and keep the layout the same. There's really no reason to change the layout and most people (like myself) can't even navigate around from page to page anymore.

Fixed. It didn't come all that fast. I've known about it for about 8 months now.
