b) their poverty was from World War I, but it's because the German mark suffered from hyperinflation due to the fact that the Kaiser of Germany decided to rely on borrowing rather than taxation. they printed marks that they didn't have in gold in their reserves, causing the currency's value to decrease (over a period of three years) before they just replaced it.
It decreased quite a lot - According to my notes (class, of course ), workers brought briefcases to work to be filled with money, which they immediatley spent on buying things like food. (This is probably right, since I see a vocabulary word in your post )

why would the germans be in poverty from the american great depression?
They were borrowing from America, to pay back America (which really makes no sense) and when America had o money, Germany had no money, and when Germany had no money, Hitler took his stand.

a) that's not the only reason; there were plenty others (many of which were related to the aftermath of World War I)
I know that, those were major reasons.

America is indeed one country they borrowed from, but you've neglected the fact that hyperinflation in Germany occurred from 1921-1923, whereas the Great Depression began in 1929.

He's not even correcting your grammar, so I fail to see how that's relevant.

My father once said to me on the drive home from a meeting with the Board of Education (where I had to defend using my diagnosed and medicated clinical depression as an excuse to miss school, but mainly just ended up sassing the county officials), "You might think people are annoying and hard to get along with, but you're just as annoying and hard to get along with as they are." Something like that. I think about it a lot

That's... An amazing application of that quote. I'm going to have to use it right back at my dad next time he's yelling words I can't say here at other drivers >: )
