Incredible Crisis

Even though famous for being on PBG, it's still obscure.

Seriously, more people need to play it. It's AMAZING!

If you want something to do while Scratch is down, check out tbgs.tk! It's the new version of the (closed) Scratch TBGS, run by Scratchers! I'm going to spend most of my time there, anyway.

I'm just looking at this thread so I can silently scoff to myself, "that's not obscure" when I see ones I've heard of/own/have played

That game isn't obscure! It sold 25,000 arcade cabinets and was ported to the Magnavox Odyssey², Texas Instruments TI-99/4A, Commodore VIC-20, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit, IBM PC, Nintendo Entertainment System, and is on many virtual consoles today. It's considered a classic by everybody!

I have no idea what you're talking about, this game came out a month and a half ago and has almost universal praise.

You mean the new game from the series of games that are extremely popular despite being blurry on modern screens and having j as jump?

Yeah, hardly obscure and everyone seems to love it.

Don't Starve! Also, I would argue that Psychonauts is not obscure. It has a cult following.

i played the first game in the series and got pretty far through it (tales of phantasia) on a ROM (and that's something i'd like to try again at some point because it was pretty amazing) but i've never tried anything else in the series

Well, I USED to think it was obscure. It's not what most people think of off the top of their head. It's RELATIVELY obscure, compared to, say, Mario Bros or Pacman or one of those.

Ok, NOW Alex Kidd is the only video game series considered "obscure" on my list. Anyone heard of it BEFORE I told anyone about how awesome it is??

As far as I can tell, the series only got better in the transition to 3D.

Everything is obscure if you're comparing it to Pacman and Mario

The presentation is a bit lacking at points, but definitely worth a try. The characters are great, the battles are fun, the story is very good and has lots of twists, and best of all... THE MULTIPLAYER IS AMAZING.

I've played it myself before; never thought of it as an obscure game.  yikes

Two fairly unknown DOS games I like are Tyrian (a vertical scrolling shooter; a modern port that runs in most platforms is here. fun to play on Android  big_smile  ) and Assault Trooper (an isometric stealth shooter by some sort of Finnish indie. Here's a video).

Come to think of it, you mentioned it to me before I thought I first heard of it! Confusing! @_@ Oh, are we still on for Castle Crashers tonight?

Not sure if it would be considered 'obscure,' but... the computer game WOLF maybe? You know, the one that you have to get DOS for...
