What!!!!!!!!!!! Take down 1.4! The 1.4 site is better! It lets you see who favorite or loved your projects! It lets you search without getting" Our server is scratching its head" all the time! Sigh..
You can have those things on 2.0 too. And the Scratch Team is still working on it.
1.4 is going to go, just deal with it.
Well, I don't think this is helping Scratch.

I'm pretty sure it is. You aren't expecting Scratch to be on 1.4 forever, are you? This website needs to evolve.

I think you guys are kind of missing the point of the petition.
The petition isn't trying to stop the 2.0 release. The people signing it just want 1.4 left up as a read-only. 2.0 will still be released anyway. I personally think it would be nice if 1.4 was left up as a read-only once 2.0 is released, but it's too difficult for both sites to be run. 1.4 will be taken down.
You can look at a cached copy of 1.4 or just use the Wayback machine if it's that important to you. All projects and comments will be transfered over anyway, so it's really only the forums that they're getting rid of. The stuff in the forums is going to go obsolete anyway because there'll be a whole new set of glitches and suggestions related to 2.0.

I'm sorry, but change has to happen. We all liked 1.4, but the newer version has to come.

Yes, but what you say doesn't benefit the scratch 1.4 fans at all.

zdogz, 2.0 definitely has forums, you just haven't given 2.0 a good enough change to find them. I encourage you to try out 2.0 further before jumping to conclusions.

Sorry, but I'm guessing the Scratch Team will not stop the development of 2.0 and just waste all the valuable time they took to make it. Look the bright side, you will still be able to use 1.4 when 2.0 comes. Just make the project with the program, and upload it to the online editor. Then you will be able to share it.
But here's a lesson here, you might not always like things. Maybe you'll like 2.0, you just don't like it because it's new. Changes are hard to get used to.

Why are you so "Scratch 2.0 is awesome" "Scratch 2.0 is great"? It only has , like 3 new features. So what?

Look, ok, I have given hours of my time to scratch 1.4 and I have only seen a few things I would like changed. I will tell you, I do like the webcam on 2.0.

Let's count the three new features.
1. Clone blocks.
2. Cloud variables.
3. Webcam blocks.
3. New profile, including commenting on the profile, and an "About me" section, and a featured project section.
3. Scratch News and Following News on the front page.
3. Complete online editor (along with an accompanying offline one which will be released after the release of 2.0) which allows people to directly try Scratch online without download, and allows scratching on other computers (such as those in the apple store)
3. Procedures
3. Vector and bitmap support.
3. The forever requested "show/hide list" blocks
Oh wait. I've reached three. I should stop now.
Even if it is "3 new features", just take the top three features. Those open the possibility to great games and projects.

Really, I think you are wrong.
What are you talking about. Look at this thread. Tons of people like it. This means that a lot of us like 2.0. There are tons of people actively using the Beta too, showing they like it. All of this information shows that a lot of us DO like it.

Just because you don't see anything you want changed doesn't mean that after they make a change you won't like it. You ave to try it for yourself before jumping to conclusions, just as cheddargirl said. And don't argue with mods by the way. It doesn't help.
