This is really sad
At the end of 5th grade, at a nearby school, a husband shot his wife. We didn't have any lockdowns or anything. It was just all over the news. I also heard the kids at that school were dismissed early because of the shooting.

normal healthy people don't go into an elementary school and shoot kids. there are a number of other factors that could have led to him doing this, but all have some relevance to his mental health.

that's what all the school shootings have been about, whether you like it or not
the columbine shooters wanted to get revenge on the athletes at their school, the favoured athletes

NO YOU'RE NOT
that is so so so SO ableist i can't tell you

just ugh i can't tell you
from above I have found out that you make assumptions based on what you think people say, which is borne out of you thinking you know better than everybody else.
"oh he's a nutjob-those mentally ill people, ready to go at any time aren't they!"
I didn't say that
"i repeat, HE HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED AS MENTALLY ILL"
hasn't been confirmed as mentally healthy either, makes place for speculation as it is impossible to confirm now that he's dead
"they're REAL PEOPLE"
never said they weren't
"they have lives"
never said they didn't
"they can get on with their day to day business"
never said they couldn't
"they are not your SCAPEGOAT"
never said they were
"normal healthy people do GO INTO schools and SHOOT PEOPLE"
i disagree with you, if revenge is so important to you that you feel the need to kill 18 kids between the ages of 5-10 then in my honest opinion you need to see someone
"also you feel the need to clarify that mentally ill people AREN'T NORMAL"
in every day terms they aren't normal, though there is nothing wrong with that
and to be honest I find it insulting that you are preaching these things to me as if I don't know what mental illnesses and disorders are, when I suffer from agoraphobia. i am not an ableist and I find it disgusting that you would even call me one.
and as a side note, no, I do not fancy myself an armchair psychologist.

Alright guys, sorry. I didn't know my post would become a huge troll. Almost everyone I know hasn't stopped thinking about this since 10:00 yesterday. I had the worst headache While my school was in lookdown. It was so depressing. I decided to leave this behind and look at the other things that happened to me that day. I could relax. I just thought the thread could use some stress relief. Plus I'm probably the closest person to actually experiencing it on the website.

revenge may have been a part of it, but normal people dont take so many innocent lives for the sake of killing one person

There is no respect for Stalin or Hitler. As far as I'm concerned, they were mentally ill. Why do you give the guy some much slack. What if he killed your little sibling. I'm pretty sure that you would want to do what I just suggested.
Also the people don't have to actually shoot his dead body. I told it to the kids that were in lockdown with me, and they laughed. I hoped it would help some of the people on scratch too. You guys just took it way too literally.

So you're willing to have 20 little children killed so you can continue hunting? I believe guns should be delt with, I personally agree that I'd be nice to have the luxury of being able to own weapons for hunting and such but not at the cost of many little children's lives.
If guns were outlawed, he would of been able to kill the children anyway. He broke multiple laws already, one more wouldn't stop him.
The gun was purchased legally by his mother.

i think joking about events like this isnt an okay thing to do
and for the record, id like to say that i personally respect hitler not as a man who contributed positively to history but as a man who did what he thought was right. he killed millions of people but he did it thinking that it would benefit his country. he wasnt evil, just seriously misled

He was probably just a normal dude.
Maybe he had some motive. We don't know that yet.
Did it have to do with mental illness?
I'm pretty sure it didn't.
He didn't just go, "A HURR DURR IM A WACKY DUDE OH HERES TWO HANDGUNS WOOOOO DIE MOM BANG BANG WOOOOO DIE SCHOOL BANG BANG YAY THEYRE DEAD AND SO AM I BANG"
Police may be investigating into his past records soon, then we'll know the answer.
So yes, some of you are being ableist. There are a lot of ableists at my school, like there's this one girl in an electronic wheelchair and most of the time kids just stare at her funny.
But anyways, until we do know the answer, stop flaming, okay?

That is so stereotypical it isn't even funny. If you are insane, you think it makes sense that you should kill them, that it would make your life better, that they deserve it.

That's really sad.
As a scary twist and premonition for me, what I think was the day before what happened in Connecticut, someone said on Facebook that he was going to attempt a shooting at a school near where I live (although no shooting actually happened).
