And I imagine transfering the server data somewhere else would take forever.

They did it during Hurricane Irene, so I can imagine it wouldn't be too bad. They probably also have routine off-site backups anyway in case anything goes wrong.

Yep, that'd be the best bet. Although, they may go down as well for a bit - but don't panic if we don't update a lot.
