Yeah, but you have to pay 1$ for like a long time every month + how much data you use on it. In the end it will be expensive :p

Well, at least you don't pay $10 a month for the Microsoft Wireless watch...

Re: October 23 Apple Event (iPad mini, 13 in. Retina MacBook, Mac minis?)

I've actually been thinking of purchasing an iPhone (4s or 5) or iPod touch (2012) without a cellular plan to use as a camera and such. My iPad 2 cameras are absolutely awful. Unfortunately they're insanely expensive without the contract. Like, I could buy a decent SLR for the same price.

You should probably get the iPod touch 2012. From what I can tell, it has a pretty decent camera. I have an iPad 3, and I've used the camera on that a lot. The 5MP still shots look nice, but only from the rear camera--the front facing camera pictures are awful, since they're so grainy. The 1080p video on the iPad 3 is not bad, actually. When you're shooting, it looks pretty bad, but when it comes out, it's about the same quality as a camcorder. I believe the iPod touch has the same camera specs too.

Though the iPod touch would be the better choice, since its smaller and more portable.

Oh, it would just break my back to carry around an iPhone  tongue
The main reason an iPhone would be even considered is that if/when I want a plan, I could just switch in a SIM card and not need another phone. But this is really pretty off topic  tongue  The camera on the iPad 2 is just pathetic.

An iPhone would be fine too, if you don't mind paying extra for the service, or extra for unlocking it.  tongue

A rumor I saw on Gizmodo suggested that the iPad Mini may be named the "iPad Air."

iPad Mini = not that great, I'd never buy it...but it's good for those who want to spend less than $499

Re: October 23 Apple Event (iPad mini, 13 in. Retina MacBook, Mac minis?)

I'd rather buy a Kindle Fire and spend the $130 I'd save on content and apps.

Plus, the Kindle Fire runs flash, so it works with Scratch.

If you got the iPad, I'd be happy to send you a copy of the Scratch app to install, so that's not a problem.

I'm not (or at least really try not to be) an Apple fanboy that just loves everything Apple and hates everything Microsoft. I actually care about the best technology, no matter who it's from. But, it's true that I'm a big Apple fan, and enjoy their technology over other companies in general.

The iPhone 4 is FREE at Apple's site. (I'm guessing you have to buy a wireless plan with it, though.)

If you want something to do while Scratch is down, check out tbgs.tk! It's the new version of the (closed) Scratch TBGS, run by Scratchers! I'm going to spend most of my time there, anyway.
