Is it necessary? I'm just suggesting that we remove this, but you post excessively, like 6 posts in a minute, then it'll stop you. But I think it'll be much easier and more convenient if we don't have to wait 60/180 seconds in between posting. ^_^ Thanks~ c:x

it's to stop commercial spammers and regular spammers
this way they won't be able to post spam out of control. i think a small sacrifice of 1/3 minute is much better than having forums full of spam
edit: grr outposted

Yes, true, or else it will just waste time and effort to close the topic, or even open the topic in the first place...

That's why I made a topic about it!

The 60/180 rule is for anti spam, because a spammer could just type a useless post, and send it,and keep doing it again. The 180 rule is because new scratchers may be spammers, and the Scratch team only upgrades a new scratcher to a scratcher because they trust the scratcher and believes that the scratcher is not spam bot or a "troll".

The 60/180 second rule stops spammers. They can only spam once every 3 minutes. It is very unlikely for a Scratcher to spam so I do not see the point of the 60 second rule, but the 180 second rule is needed.
500TH POST!

Please do not just post "lol". No one know what you are refering to and this can be refered as spam. If you really think something is funny, quote what you think is funny then say whatever you want.

This is getting out of control. Please do not go off topic! Thanks!
The 60 180 rules is to prevent excessive spam, but Moderators do not have to wait 60 seconds because the scratch team trusts them.

We know that; we are saying that for the more trusted members, maybe we can decrease the number of seconds.

isn't there going to be a new type of scratchers that don't have to wait long before posting in 2.0?

Well yeah, they can be, doesn't mean it isthough
If I started a rumour that 2.0 is cancelled because the Scratch Team can't be bothered to work on it anymore then that doesn't mean that'd be true
