We'll get there in the end don't worry! Hmmm... I'm just trying to work out what you could do without any simulator experience. I should have asked you to put it on your CV whether or not you had played Sim City or City Life or Cities XL or Lin City!
I have had some simulator experience, though the simulators were very basic. I could do some of the coding and graphics if needed, as well as find some sounds. I can also chip in on ideas, though I need to watch or play Sim City first.

woo! you did it! let's try and replace the Olympics with something else because they already have an entire Olympic village set up from the 2008 games so I doubt they'll need support Also, we don't really have a counter for industrial buildings, our only way of 'counting' them is through how much rent you get, so it might be better if it's a total income rather than just from industry. This would include residential income and commercial. Tourism will be available too as an option, but it wouldn't be a focus in China, whereas tourism will be a major game-play aspect for Egypt and Spain.
By the way, I was thinking of setting the French levels in the Alps, so for levels like those there would be a huge contrast in terms of tourism management.
In Spain for example, it might be all about handling huge amounts of people in cheap accommodation, whereas in the French levels it's all about micro-management, where you must handle a couple thousand visitors and get the most money possible from them. This is where the level designs become really interesting because the player must adapt to two very different ways of handling tourists.

[Okay. I edited the parameters of the situation ^^ to address these issues.]

[The Alps? That should be interesting, and maybe the land generation should create more hills for these levels.]

[And diversity brings excitement and fame to a project.]
My comments are above and below.
I'm curious, how many levels will we be making? I was thinking that we might make 10 or 15 (or some multiple of 5) levels with 2 or 3 per each country.
Edit: I just noticied that the levels need names, so I just added one.

I'd say 10 really good levels, any more and they may begin to lose quality, but we'll see. it's a shame about time zones, i have to go now

I have another hour before having to get ready for bed and another hour before going to bed, so our time zones are similar.
I'll work on my City Tycoon a bit and see if I get a stroke of inspiration. If I do, I'll post it here.

You know what, because Scratch 2.0 isn't coming out until around December time, it seems pointless planning now. Another thing is that when Scratch 2.0 comes out, I bet that all I want to do is have fun messing around with the new blocks and experimenting, and I'm sure you'd be the same and you wouldn't want to be dragged down by a collaboration.
So, if we're not goanna make it now, and we're goanna need a couple of months independently before Scratch 2.0 comes out then we're probably not goanna make this for another year? So, either we make it and finish it before Scratch 2.0 comes out or we'll never get around to it. Now I think it would be pointless making it in this version, because we're not goanna be able to make many improvements to it that would make it different to G:4001, and it might as well be just a scenario pack for the original so I really don't know what to do, and I don't wanna make what is essentially an expansion pack.

I can make a basic cash/tax simulator.

We could still colab on something else, it just can't be G: Global. Or you could look into other types of projects, other then city builders, and try to make one. A tycoon or a platformer might be good.

Tell me what can't you do.
EDIT: For example, tell you how to use some 2.0 blocks so that you don't have to experiment later.
EDIT TWO: Outposted. T_T

are you saying you want to collaborate on one of those? (or another idea)

I would still like to mess around with the blocks, though that would be useful.

well, maybe we should start fresh. So, forget about the Generation: X series and I'll keep that as a personal series for me to do, let's all work together on either an epic tycoon, platformer or something else. Now, there is one thing that I have been starting and stopping all over again, and that is a series called: Ugha- The Prehistoric Superhero!
It consists of comics, games and more! Interested?

well, for the comics all I need is scripts and enemy ideas, I'll create them myself to keep the art-style the same in each. for the games, this is where you two come in. basically, there will be one major platformer and then loads of smaller games.
i want the game to not be based in the prehistoric world, and one idea was to have him travelling between time periods. My ideas were: Prehistoric, Egyptian, Medieval, Empire/Victorian, Future and Grolig's Worlds. (Grolig is the villain).
the reason was because I thought that there would not be enough fun in the Prehistoric era, and music was a huge issue especially. although I found a song which I think is very catchy, no way could a player listen to it for 20 levels straight, and there seemed to be no other genuine prehistoric music.
interested?

not sure if you heard but when mario got really popular near it's peak in the early nineties, loads of minigames with mario on it came out, for example mario golf. this also happened with sonic when he appeared on tetris clones. neither had anything to do with the original games, they just brought them out as part of the franchise, bit like what on earth does the simpsons have to do with Dominos pizzas- yet they appear on the truck? fair enough if it was for beer or doughnuts, but not for pizzas?
I'm sticking with 6 time periods, as the more we add the harder it will be to fit any in, plus it might be easier to make Egyptian levels than Roman ones but you can choose between the two. he travels through time warps which need to be activated, the last time warp leads him to Grolig's Lair, hence why he has to travel through all of them.
about the music, I have two songs for both the western (replacing empire levels) and prehistoric, i'll upload a music project for you!
