Scratch 2.0 Account Cleaning

I bet that there are a lot of old accounts on scratch that will never be used again.
After a lot of discussion, I improved my idea a bit:

A few weeks before Scratch 2.0 + Website are released, there could be a special notification or something that all Scratch accounts with no (/few comentless) projects that have been inactive for a while will be deleted. Though if great Scratchers are inactive but have projects that kind of belong to Scratch's history, they will ofc stay. You can say "No!" if your account might be in danger (because of few projects or views) and noone will delete you!

Why do so?
It saves some space on the server (not much, maybe) and makes it a bit faster and more efficient.
It makes a lot of user-names avaiable again.
The statistics will change and therefore be up-to-date and right again (whats the point of statistics if they involve people that are not scratchers any more?)
It's just tidier and it shrinks the community to those who are still Scratchers and not a bunch of inactives as well.

Please comment and tell me what you think about this.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Account Cleaning

i dont support, all user data should be permanent even if the account is no longer being used. we could lose some pretty revolutionary projects and history

Re: Scratch 2.0 Account Cleaning

this is ridiculous. just because a scratcher quit doesn't mean their projects should be deleted.

No.
Instead, just remove all multiple-month old projectless and commentless users.

Uh, ofc I didn't think about that... Well, maybe they should leave these accounts, but some that were never used might as well be deleted

What if they had an account an went inactive for a period of time, and came back only to find their accounts gone?

if someone has no job, no friends, and no social interaction, should we kill them?

no.

so if a scratcher has no projects, no comments, and no forum posts, does that make them worthless?

no.

so should we remove their stuff?

no.
