The highest right now is 1000. We should have more, like 5,000, and of course 9000+.

I was hoping that they would add 250 and 5000, but I agree. 9000 would be nice, though 10,000 would be a bit more practical.

This isn't going to happen.
This feature was added to prevent spamming for a high post count. The scratch said the reason why the didn't hide them entirely was so you could see how experience a user may be. A user with 1000+ is experienced enough, so adding higher would make users try for them, which defeats the objective.

Anyways, you can still see your real post count when you click profile, but that's just you who can see it.

Well, you could put something like "I have 1376 posts (updated 8/16/2012)" in your sig if you want everyone to see.
If more milestones ARE added, I think there should only be 2000+, and maybe 3000+.
