Scratch 2.0 Many things become possible.

As you know, scratch has added cloud data. This will mean the following (epic) thing including: Chat rooms (I'm making  a chat room), and even online games. Better get thinking.

I've said this before, but my personal fave idea for cloud data is game with a level editor where you can save levels to the cloud.

Scratch 2.0 will certainly be useful in creating many types of games.

Scratch 2.0 has opened up a range of possible projects, which you could not create on the current version of Scratch. One of my favorite features are -

- Webcam Interactivity
-  Cloud Data (useful for polls, surveys, chatrooms etc...)
- Creating Your Own Blocks

Re: Scratch 2.0 Many things become possible.

You could make online games without mesh. You just use the the cloud varibles to change  the location of another player.

I tried during the alpha at MIT.Unfortunately, it lagged to the point where it was unplayable.

How much lag are we talking about? Would it be acceptable for a turn-based game at least?

Definitely. But not a virtual world, or anything of the similar.
