If you could please ask your parents, then download it, that would be good. It's an aiff file so there's not chance of getting malware.

And I can easily do complex pieces, and you'll find that my acoustic guitar sounds pretty electric in some parts of the sample I uploaded. All thanks to garageband.

But if DIY wants to do lead and piano, then I'll do rhythm I guess, like John Lennon tongue

Lead is most definitely easier on electric than acoustic, if the strings are strung low. It gives the player a good advantage. And I never said about lead guitar being easier than rhythm?

Anyway, lead has always interested me, so you could do rhythm while I play lead, no problem. smile

While we're in the auditing process, I was thinking that we should try to come up with a name for the band. Like I said in the main post, my suggestion was "The Goboes". But it sounds really tacky, so I really want to hear your suggestions. tongue

Yeah, 'The Goboes' doesn't sound all that great, but if we can't come up with a better name, I suppose it'll be alright. It has to be 'The ______' like 'The Beatles' of course. I'll keep you updated if I myself come up with a name. Till then, the others can give their suggestions too.

Anyway, is this an audition for jji7skyline for rhythm guitar? I thought you were already in? "Here Comes the Sun"'s main guitar is lead, not rhythm. This is because of its style of picking.

It does not give a beat or rhythm. It's basically playing lead notes. You can look that up if you want. smile

Any ideas on which song to start on All4one? As I stated before, going chronologically will never work, seeing The Beatles released 206 songs together, a big chunk of which were their early songs. As they progressed, their songs improved significantly with the over-dubbing of other instruments and better tunes. Of course I'm not saying we should record all (we'll be recording a tiny fragment of those 206 songs), but if we go chronologically, we'll never get some of the best later songs done, like Strawberry Fields, A Day In the Life, Let It Be, etc. (we may not even get to 'Rubber Soul' or 'Revolver').

I myself have covered "Let It Be" alone (to be re-released soon), so I'd rather not record that again though I can give you the lead and piano tracks if you really want to cover the song as a band. I propose all the four band members come up with a list of their songs that we would like to cover, in order of preference. It should not be too long (of practical length, as we can't think of recording a whole bunch of songs; the band has not kicked off yet, and it's not up to us to know whether this will be a success). Then we can record the most popularly voted songs first, if it's feasible with orchestral over-dubbing or not, or reach a decision depending on what songs are easily recordable. Instead of releasing whole albums, which will take time, we can release each song one-by-one as a single.

Does that sound a good idea, All4one? smile
