UPDATE - I made a slight change to the rule about each musician being required to sing. I think only the four main members of the band (rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, drums) should have to sing. Or else it would be sort of odd if, for example, a harmonica player, would be required to sing a song, for the harmonica player would simply be a stand-in musician, unless the instrument will be played by one of the main band members. I'm about to make this change in the main post.
@Veggie - Yeah, you were right - you don't exactly sound like The Beatles. But you still have a great, unique voice - keep up the good work with those albums.
@jji - Do I necessarily have to download the file? My parents wouldn't be too happy if I told them I downloaded a foreign file on their computer. If I do have to download it, then I can just ask for permission.Yeah, so like I said, I will do piano and lead guitar. I know this is an early decision as intended, but as jji has only an acoustic guitar and can't perform complex pieces, I'll take those posts. I am plenty experienced in those two, even rhythm. I have acoustic guitars as well if needed for lead parts such as 'Here Comes the Sun'.
So add me up there. I can sing, no problem. Can't wait to get started!
I could upload to bandcamp, but that would take another hour
If you could please ask your parents, then download it, that would be good. It's an aiff file so there's not chance of getting malware.
And I can easily do complex pieces, and you'll find that my acoustic guitar sounds pretty electric in some parts of the sample I uploaded. All thanks to garageband.
But if DIY wants to do lead and piano, then I'll do rhythm I guess, like John Lennon

This is somewhat irrelevant, but they can have Trojan horses

Sorry about the late reply. Just got a chance to reply right now. My parents said they'll talk about the download this morning, but they might not be too convinced once they hear what veggie said.
I'll tell you the results of the conversation in two or three hours. Four at most.

Still, I think my parents would be happier if you sent it through Bandcamp.
Again, sorry for the late reply.

I can play Hey Jude, Let it Be, Yellow Submarine, A Day In The Life, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Yesterday, and In My Life on guitar (Huge beatles fan as you can see hehe)
So if you want me in your band, I'd be glad to play rhythm or lead guitar!

@ jji7skyline: What I'm saying is I have plenty experience on guitar, and with electric, it is much easier to play lead - that's fact. Lead helps one to master the technic well which I've done for the past many years.
Plus I'm very good at acoustic lead too.
@ iMintDev: We've already got lead and rhythm guitarists, sorry.

Oh ok, I've heard some of the FC music and yes, you are a talented guitarist.
I wouldn't necessarily say that lead is easier, but they're both hard when you get to more difficult pieces.
@veggie: I guess so, but my Mac is very secure. I even have a firewall

Lead is most definitely easier on electric than acoustic, if the strings are strung low. It gives the player a good advantage. And I never said about lead guitar being easier than rhythm?
Anyway, lead has always interested me, so you could do rhythm while I play lead, no problem.

While we're in the auditing process, I was thinking that we should try to come up with a name for the band. Like I said in the main post, my suggestion was "The Goboes". But it sounds really tacky, so I really want to hear your suggestions.

Yeah, 'The Goboes' doesn't sound all that great, but if we can't come up with a better name, I suppose it'll be alright. It has to be 'The ______' like 'The Beatles' of course. I'll keep you updated if I myself come up with a name. Till then, the others can give their suggestions too.

Well, it's on an app on my phone. It's called "MP3 Ringtone Maker", and you can browse for ringtones, too. If you type in "veggieman", then there's five different ringtones based off your stuff.

I find it easier to play with fingers that with a pick.
And as for a name, what about The Lowcusts?

Good name! But it seems it's taken.
By the way, in case you didn't read it already, I think my parents would be happier if you sent me the "Here Comes the Sun" file via Bandcamp.

I can't be bothered uploading it again
And you said we're going through the Beatles songs in chronological order anyway

BandCamp is an odd place to upload raw recordings.
Anyway, is this an audition for jji7skyline for rhythm guitar? I thought you were already in? "Here Comes the Sun"'s main guitar is lead, not rhythm. This is because of its style of picking.
It does not give a beat or rhythm. It's basically playing lead notes. You can look that up if you want.
Any ideas on which song to start on All4one? As I stated before, going chronologically will never work, seeing The Beatles released 206 songs together, a big chunk of which were their early songs. As they progressed, their songs improved significantly with the over-dubbing of other instruments and better tunes. Of course I'm not saying we should record all (we'll be recording a tiny fragment of those 206 songs), but if we go chronologically, we'll never get some of the best later songs done, like Strawberry Fields, A Day In the Life, Let It Be, etc. (we may not even get to 'Rubber Soul' or 'Revolver').
I myself have covered "Let It Be" alone (to be re-released soon), so I'd rather not record that again though I can give you the lead and piano tracks if you really want to cover the song as a band. I propose all the four band members come up with a list of their songs that we would like to cover, in order of preference. It should not be too long (of practical length, as we can't think of recording a whole bunch of songs; the band has not kicked off yet, and it's not up to us to know whether this will be a success). Then we can record the most popularly voted songs first, if it's feasible with orchestral over-dubbing or not, or reach a decision depending on what songs are easily recordable. Instead of releasing whole albums, which will take time, we can release each song one-by-one as a single.
Does that sound a good idea, All4one?

Thank you very much, veggie, for sending the file through Bandcamp.
@jji - You're in! Great job on the audition tapes.
@DIY - Maybe you're right. Releasing and recording songs is more difficult on the Web, so it would be impractical to try and perform all their 206 tunes. Once we have a full band, maybe we should take a vote, just to hear everyone's opinions.
