Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

I think Scratch is moving from a small programming language to a high-class professional tool.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

It needs widescreen, deleting broadcasts, right-click (probably only in the downloadable version), and hiding\showing lists

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

This is indescribably epic. I am using it online and the  paint editor is not available but however it is so cool. The webcam idea could allow you to make a virtual orchestra or play drums with just your hands or something. The cloning this will save a lot of time and space in games which will help a lot. It's all great but a suggestion which we have come up with is to have a multiplayer function. So basically you could have a game where participants could play with/against each other at the same time! They could collectively save a highscore and do collaborative stuff. ROCK ON though guys awesome new update WHEN WILL IT BE OUT I ALREADY CANT WAIT ANY LONGER  big_smile

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Hey, I like the old 404 page! Put DaveTy's pic back on!  tongue

But really, the new 404 page looks kind of plain now that the blocks-in-the-box picture is gone.  sad

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Why can't the alpha site be unlocked again? By the way, Scratch 2.0 is really cool! I really like the cloud variables! I can't wait for it to come out! Nice job!

with the

define block [hi]
block you can drag a variable into the
hi // part.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

another little glitch: SlideBackToFormerSituation (or whatever it's called in the Flash version) doesn't re-embed reporters into their origin's argument slots

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

New idea: If you could make sprites active in only certain scenes, that would make it easier to make stuff like title screens and level select menus.

Another new idea: If you  could make reporter/boolean blocks like this

for the

<clicked?>
block

if mouse down and touching mouse-pointer,
   set
<true/false>
to true

else

set
<true/false>
to false

Then, with a new block,

report<true/false>
This would report true of false based on whether the sprite was clicked.

when gf clicked

This is for feedback about the 2.0 prototype, if you want to introduce yourself do so in the New Scratcher forums.

They can‘t ovetwrite your project, it‘s like viewing it with Scratch Program. They can still remix, though.  tongue
