Adding parameters to new blocks is not as intuitive as it should. I thought at first that new blocks couldn't have parameters. I tried to shift+click the new block only because I found an example that actually got parameters. But this is not really Scratch. In Scratch everything is under your eyes. You should not know something in advance in order to actually use it.
BYOB's mechanism (plus signs showing up when hovering the new block) is to me much more intuitive. At least you immediately understand that you CAN do something!
Morevover, having to click the parameter name is not what I would like to do right after having created one: I would just like set its name immediately.
Moreover, the darker spot in the block name where you can actually change the block name is not as clear as it should. It seems like THIS is the name of the parameter... or something that you don't understand...
Summing up: creating new blocks is a very nice feature, but at this stage it looks to me more confused than it should...

Why "full screen" doesn't actually really go full screen? In my Firefox 12 (Windows 7) it only gets big half the screen height.

The graphics mean that individual lines can be distorted, or even become invisible. For instance, in this project, the character bounces off a now-invisible wall, that is 1 pixel thick. This is particularly concerning since the background isn't moving, that row of pixels appears to simply not be there. Also, as the character moves, it almost looks like it's vibrating. Maybe the renderer should render sprites using rounded coordinates?
Additionally, when I used a sort of recursive-cloning script, it froze and then Google Chrome asked to kill the page.

You have a very good point. A key element of Scratch is for everything to be easy to understand, with no tutorials needed. The part that you have to shift click the hat block is somewhat confusing, and I agree that it should be changed. Some kind of visual identifier that shows you can add parameters and change the text (like in BYOB) would be very useful. Thanks for your feedback.

To make things draggable, click the (i) button on the top-left of a sprite's icon (in the list of sprites). Then, click on the lock.

I don't think you will be able to upload projects during this 5-day time period (after all, you wouldn't be able to see them after May 21). You will be able to upload projects once Scratch 2.0 is released.

First of all, the scratch cats eyes are too small. Second, there is no comments on 2.0, and if you open a project which had comments it shows:
scratchCommentAnother very important thing is you can't put variables or anything inside of the change costume block, which means you cant make it change to a previous costume. (and other things this keeps you from doing, but I cant remember what. Something to do with variables.)

An offline version of Scratch will still be available for those without an internet connection - see the Scratch 2.0 FAQ.

Is there still going to be an offline editor? I'm extremely concerned that we will be forced to use the online editor, but I have been using the offline since the creation of Scratch and I really don't want to give it up! I love it.

The character "π" (pi) displays as "Ï€" on the alpha version. It displays correctly on the old version. This probably means that tons of other characters display strange as well. To see it search for "comp09" (meeeee! _meow_) and the first project has that bug.

I did notice, and remember from scratch suggestions site, that they will have offline version. I edited it just a bit before you posted.
They had the drop downs not allowing reporters in experimental viewer too, I mentioned it but I don't remember any answer. Maybe it was intentional.

When you are creating your own blocks they won't work if you put it in the Stage or in another sprite. This is dissapointing as I was hoping I could unclutter my sprites by making the huge scripts blocks in the Stage.

You should be able to run Turbo mode without having to see inside, like the current Flash Player. Some games require Turbo mode, and since you cannot do full screen when looking inside, you cannot play those games full screen.
