If you're willing to end a costume name with two numbers, there's a way of getting two costumes to have the same name. Here's the procedure:
Create two costumes under these names:
costumeA
costumeA1
(replace A with a number 1-9 of your choice, both As must be the same)
Now copy the first costume. You'll see it has the same name as the second costume. The issue is that Scratch 1.4 when it copies the costume ends it in 1 but doesn't notice that is already used.

The automatic numbering is there so the program doesn't get confused and switch to the wrong costume. I've never seen it glitch though.
