Two costumes with the same name

If you're willing to end a costume name with two numbers, there's a way of getting two costumes to have the same name. Here's the procedure:

Create two costumes under these names:

costumeA
costumeA1
(replace A with a number 1-9 of your choice, both As must be the same)

Now copy the first costume. You'll see it has the same name as the second costume. The issue is that Scratch 1.4 when it copies the costume ends it in 1 but doesn't notice that is already used.

Re: Two costumes with the same name

I can't replicate this, but I've got to say the automatic sprite renumbering thing is one of Scratch's least endearing features. It would not surprise me at all if it messes up in certain cases.

The automatic numbering is there so the program doesn't get confused and switch to the wrong costume. I've never seen it glitch though.  hmm
