Life Point Counter Survey

Just a small survey of sorts to help me out with a game I'm currently working on.

In a game with a Life Point counter, would you prefer seeing:
     A) The SCRATCH variable counter display?
     B) A customized Life Meter (the ones without numbers)?
     C) Something else (state in your comments)?

EDIT:
As of 9th post:
A - 1 vote
B - 5 votes
C - no vote

B. It looks better, and if you use Scratch, you know it takes more effort to do that.

Re: Life Point Counter Survey

It's entirely dependent on what sort of game you're making.
An RPG would go far better with the normal variable display, because of statistics like HP. A fighting game would be far better to use a life bar. (Super Smash Bros is an exception, because it isn't the normal take away all your opponents health setup usually found in fighting games)

I like a graphic like a health bar...one that changes color as it gets "critical" is even better.  Then, you can tell at a glance what your status is.

Hmm, that a pretty interesting thought you brought there. What would you consider to be the better option for a platform game where you have to fight monsters, and then face a final boss at the end (no other statistic included, only LP included)?

Errrr

I think that seens as you're using a Life POINT system, then the variable would be better to do.

B. But I don't use variables much to show you how much health you got, I just make is so that your appearance is showing your health,
